At S&R, we met a leading optician’s chain to address their communication challenges and help elevate their operations.

Our client is a key player in the world of optical and audiology, recognised not only for being a multi generation owned family business, but for impressive growth and data driven marketing activity.

Despite their success, they faced challenges in key areas such as efficiency and customer acquisition.

Objective

As our client expanded into more stores, they experienced difficulty in scaling up a multi channel communication plan and concurrently, a multi channel marketing plan. They needed to get important information to their patients depending on their optical or hearing journey, as well as budgeting for an acquisition marketing plan.

They asked us to assess their existing operation and provide a solution to ensure they communicated with patients at key touchpoints across a 5 year journey.

Solution

Having created a ‘map’ of the important touchpoints, the communications were split into printed letters, postcards, emails and SMS. All patients would receive a combination of those messages at different points on their path.

After demonstrating our print and email / SMS platform and successfully providing a proof of concept, a schedule was agreed and upon.

Retrieving a data refresh each week we then run the files through various processes to automate the production and broadcast of the letters, postcards, emails and MS messages.

We recently welcomed the opportunity to partner with a leading supply chain manager in the print and marketing sector. We helped address their requirement in producing press release packs for award winning authors, for distribution to social media influencers. This case study delves into the collaboration, the issues faced, and the solution we implemented.

Our client is a prominent player in the print and marketing supply chain industry, recognized for innovative results in unique and often complex requirements. Despite their success, they faced challenges in efficient and quick turnaround of very bespoke press release packs.

Objective

Client was tasked with creating and producing bespoke press release packs containing a signed novel, a personalised letter and several other appropriate gifts tailored individually to social media influencers. The information would be supplied ad hoc, and the packs had to be produced and sent out same day on overnight courier.

Concerns centred around same day turnaround for low volume, high value bespoke print and pack.

Solution

We introduced custom templates for highly personalised colour digital letters and integrated a routine for daily print, fulfilment, and despatch. This included keeping an area in our hand finishing department permanently set up for an agreed 3 month period, cut off times for data transfer and an upgraded service through our courier network.

At S&R, we had the privilege of partnering with a leading Travel Insurance aggregator to address their unique challenges and elevate their operations. This case study delves into the collaboration, the challenges faced, and the solutions implemented.

Our client is a prominent player in the Travel insurance industry, recognized for winning the Personal Finance Award 2023 / 24 and being the most trusted travel insurance price comparison site on Trustpilot. Despite their success, they faced challenges in key areas such as efficiency and scalability.

Objective

As our client experienced significant uptake and increased sales, they recognised they could not keep up with the volume of producing policy documents and accompanying policy booklets in house. One of the main issues was having a policy booklet printed, only for an underwriter to change a clause. The stock they had produced had to then be recycled and new print order placed. This obviously incurs a lot of wasted print and a serious delay in sending a policy pack to their new or
returning customer.

They asked us to assess their existing operation and provide a solution to tackle their environmental and production concerns.

Solution

The answer, which we made easy for them, to set up a secure document transfer portal and have them send all documents to us for colour printing. Files are loaded at midnight and retrieved 8am following morning, then printed same day.

For the policy booklets, we set up an archive for all the artworks and ran them as a print on demand product, producing the exact number of booklets through our colour digital presses, then binding them on our booklet maker.

The packs were then collated and enclosed, same day, for despatch on one of our wholesale postage accounts.

In 2023 we had the pleasure of meeting a leading audiologist company, to discuss their marketing plans and ambitions for the forthcoming years.

Our client is a major supplier of audiology locums. Despite their success, they needed a partner to assist them scaling up marketing activity, whilst balancing environmental and acquisition considerations.

Objective

As our client brought more and more independent stores on line, they experienced difficulty in accommodating a lot of individual needs and messages, whilst trying to contact a target market.

There is also an environmental concern and they were insistent on using recycled / recyclable materials and ensuring the supply chain was acting responsibly.

Solution

Firstly, we helped educate them on the benefits of using digital colour print and its ability to create highly personalised letters and postcards by using variable images and content. This hybrid type solution allowed us to produce the content they required, and by combining different files and messages into one ‘job’ we passed on significant postage discounts due to volume.
